1. Synthesis of modified cantharidins as potencial drugs for treating diseases of alternative splicing;

2. Synthesis of cantharidin derivatives tethered to oligos as SMODT (small-molecule-directed-targeting) reagents that alter specific stages of spliceosome formation;

3. Synthesize suitably labeled, photoactive cantharidins for studying the binding site of these novel drugs.
